A mini biography of me

General
My name is Adam Turtle, I'm 19 and as mentioned above I've just started Interactive Multimedia Design at Jordanstown. Its been a good course so far, with only a few early mornings! I'm from Broughshane, a little village just a few miles outside Ballymena in County Antrim. During the week I live in Glenwhirry Court which is student accommodation about a mile from the Jordanstown campus. So far it's been pretty good, there's two Irish guys in my flat who are brilliant fun. I'm the youngest in my family of five; I have two older siblings, a sister Sarah (21) and brother David (29).

Hobbies and Interests
I'd say my biggest interest is music. I listen to a lot of music and have built up quite a big collection of CD's and records over the past few years. I like a variety of different styles but I'm mainly into rock, particularily rock music from the late 60's and 70's. Bands such as Thin Lizzy, Status Quo, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin and countless others inspired me to pick up a guitar and learn to play.
I have been playing the guitar now for five years and still enjoy it as much as ever. A few years ago, myself and a few friends got together and formed a band for a school talent show covering Status Quo's classic Rockin' All Over the World and suprising everyone (even ourselves!) by coming in 2nd place. Amazingly what started as a bit of fun is still going after 3 years and we are now known as 'down to earth', playing gigs all round the country and practising most Saturday mornings. More about the band can be found on the down to earth website

Career and future plans
At the moment I'm really not sure what career path to take so I'm keeping my options open. I think a degree in Interactive Multimedia Design will give me a good basis for finding a job in later life as the IT industry is one which is growing rapidly all the time.

After I finish university I would quite like to take a gap year and do something completely different, perhaps take a year-long trip around Europe or trek across America! I've always wanted to see Austrailia and New Zealand so who knows where I'll end up. The longer I can prolong not having to get a real job the better!
